Plant and Animal Science Study Centers
Completely mobile and self-contained, Sheldon’s plant study and animal discovery centers bring real-life studies into the classroom. Caster mounted units can be wheeled anywhere. The Plant Study Centers are delivered with a project book containing instructional materials for teachers and students.
Plant Growth Center
The Plant Growth Center comes equipped with eight Gro-Lux lamps that illuminate the top shelf, and the shelf is adjustable from 12″ to 18″ to accommodate plant maturity. Two additional shelves are furnished fixed and can be used for storage or unlit experimentation. The Center provides six fiberglass growing trays. Light fixtures accept either Gro-Lux or white fluorescent lamps and exposure is controlled with a 24-hour timer.

Porta-Plant Study Center
This study center has fourteen growing trays on two steel shelves. A light fixture over each shelf is adjustable for height and has four Gro-Lux lamps. The top of the fixture has a rim that serves as an auxiliary storage shelf. Two photo-period programmable timers permit settings for each 15-minute interval of light for each 24-hour period.

Animal Study Center
The study of live animals becomes an absorbing learning experience for students who have the advantages of the Sheldon Animal Study Center. Important exercises such as the study of life cycles, feeding habits, nutritional requirements, the effects of heat, and light, and other, studies in ecology, genetics and physiology can be carried on continuously and conveniently with the animals in the laboratory.

Sheldon offers two additional models featuring an internal charcoal filtering system that does not require outside ducting and a moveable version mounted on heavy-duty casters.
In addition to the Animal Study Center, Sheldon also offers the Aviary/Wildlife Center, which is identical to the Animal Study Center, excepting its wire shelves are removed and one sliding door is fitted with a removable screen with two access openings. Two adjustable bird perches are included. Internal/external ducting options are also available with the Aviary/Wildlife Center.
Climatarium II
The temperature, light and ventilation control available in the Sheldon Climatarium II gives the instructor new freedom in scheduling plant studies. Plant materials are available any time of the year; bulbs, tubers, and cuttings root almost immediately and seedlings grow rapidly; basking in a light which knows no season. The Climatarium II offers an opportunity to explore the behavior of plant life on a scope never before possible in the classroom. It can create any climate, season and time of the day—easily and quickly—by use of the control panel switches.
